Dear Mr. Lu Extra 2

When it came to getting married, Lu Chong arranged for the two of them to fly abroad to get the certificate, have some fun and then start preparing for the wedding banquet after they returned.

Lu Chong planned a big event. Luo Wencheng later thought it was too much trouble, he didn’t feel like entertaining a bunch of people he didn’t know, but Lu Chong insisted and promised that he would only need to show up, he didn’t have to say or do anything, and with Lu Chong’s status, things like heckling and getting him drunk wouldn’t happen.

Luo Wencheng agreed.

But there was one more thing he needed to worry about – the guest list.

“Is there anyone you want to invite?” Lu Chong asked.

“Who do I have to invite, I’m just a loner.” Luo Wencheng said easily, suddenly freezing at the end of his sentence.

He abruptly remembered that he was not alone.

Lu Chong looked at him and said, “Do you want to invite the Zhang family?”

Luo Wencheng didn’t say anything immediately.

“You didn’t recognise the Zhang family at that time because you weren’t sure what would happen in the future, right? Now that everything is stable, are you not going to tell them about it for the rest of your life?” Lu Chong said softly.

“Then tell them?” Thinking of the scene of father and son recognising each other, Luo Wencheng felt strangely uncomfortable. He didn’t have much affection for Zhang Qihui, but he knew Zhang Qihui cared for him. He had some respect in his heart for the father’s feelings for his lost child. Now that he was well, if he didn’t confess, it seemed a bit unreasonable.

“Just say a word.”

“Okay, but it’s just to acknowledge the blood ties and have a meal together now and then. I don’t think it’s a good idea to invite them for the wedding banquet. Exposing my relationship with them will only make their family’s life unsettled.” The Zhang family were just ordinary citizens, and the people Lu Chong would invite to the wedding banquet were all noble and powerful people, and their family would only feel uncomfortable in the middle of it, receiving countless strange looks.

It was not that Luo Wencheng disliked them, but they had a good life, so why ruin it?

The following day Luo Wencheng and Lu Chong went to the Zhang family’s house. The process of recognising the relatives was quite indescribable. Zhang Qihui almost fainted at the time and was able to digest the fact only after holding Luo Wencheng’s hand and crying.

The two of them also went back to Zhang Qihui’s hometown to visit the grave of Luo Wencheng’s mother, Lan Xiufang, to tell her the news.

They both let go of a big heartache at the same time.

Lu Chong and Luo Wencheng didn’t stay in that small county for long, but after returning to Beijing, they threw a huge wedding banquet with a large number of guests, and got a lot of media coverage.

The wedding banquet of two men, handsome enough, rich enough and with Lu Chong’s identity, caused a great deal of excitement and discussion, and because of Lu Chong’s intervention, the discussion was largely positive and full of blessings. For a long time afterwards there was a talk of the same-sex marriage, this wedding banquet giving a very positive signal to that group of people, who were in an uproar and took advantage of the opportunity to do something about it.

Some people also said there was a huge increase in the number of people who came out publicly during that time.

But these two people didn’t care. They spent some time in Beijing, then some time in Haining, visited the Zhang family twice a year and travelled the rest of the year around the world.

More than ten years later, after the small instrument in Luo Wencheng’s body malfunctioned several times, causing his heart rhythm to be disturbed, he underwent a minor operation, accompanied by Lu Chong. The team raised by Lu Chong with heavy investments was very skilled and repaired the device.

When Luo Wencheng woke up on the hospital bed and met his lover’s slightly reddened smiling eyes, he knew that his time had been extended again.

It is good that I can stay with you longer.

Longer, and longer, and longer, for a lifetime, and so it goes.

……

Somewhere in a certain space, on a screen glowing with a soft fluorescent blue light there was an image of the two men snuggling up to each other. The light flashed on the screen and a line of words appeared…

Changing the fate of the target, third resurrection version, success.

The screen slowly condensed into a blue dot, ready to leave the realm.

“The first mission has finally succeeded?” The best friend from the other realm asked lazily through the internal communication channel, “You failed the first mission and you had to start over so many times. I have done several missions while you have only done this one, and you’ve even drained yourself of energy. Was it worth it?”

It was worth it, the blue dot thought..

It was a junior version of the system, made to change the fate of its target, and this was its first mission, and an experimental task.

Because it was its first mission, the system couldn’t yet be as calm and sensible as its best friend and senior.

Its target, Luo Wencheng, initially asked to return to ten years ago, and the system agreed to do so in order to convince him, only for him to have an accident on the very last day of his stay. Having saved Luo Wencheng, the system almost exhausted its own energy, and it should have abandoned this mission and detached itself from this realm after Luo Wencheng died according to his established destiny.

But Luo Wencheng left one variable behind, that of Lu Chong, who was supposed to die at the age of sixteen.

This man was saved by the target without hesitation, and for over a decade this man waited and looked for the target.

The system didn’t believe that anyone could hold on to a promise, a relationship, for so long. Lu Chong impressed it and made it a little curious, and it wanted to know how far he would go. It wanted to try to see if it could use this man, who had been saved by the target, to save the target again in turn.

Lu Chong agreed without hesitation. He agreed to give his life, so the system, whose energy was almost depleted, had the ability to go back in time once more, and with the love and hope Luo Wencheng himself offered turned into energy, give Luo Wencheng the second chance to live.

But in the end Luo Wencheng gave up his life once again.

The system felt even more unbearable than the last time.

Two people had gone through so much, both willing to sacrifice for each other without hesitation, why was it still a tragedy in the end? Then what was the point of it being so busy for so long?

So in the last three days of Luo Wencheng’s life, the system had been looking for a turning point.

And a turning point appeared.

The system admitted that it had violated the rules by actively interfering with that professor’s brain waves, causing him to make a firm decision to resuscitate Luo Wencheng and immediately seizing the opportunity to declare that he could be resurrected once more after Luo Wencheng’s heartbeat started again.

This was the limit of what the system could do under the limitations of the rules, and it was good that the target and the one he loved finally grasped this last chance.

As a result, one person who should have died a tragic death at thirty-one and one person who should have been shot dead at sixteen were happily and blissfully living together into old age.

To be honest, this result was achieved mainly because they helped each other. Luo Wencheng’s two resurrections only contributed to it. At most, some regulations were violated and the system would be punished when going back. It should have been rewarded for completing the task but now the reward was definitely gone, and the system’s energy was less than when it came there.

However, compared to the two life changed and the punishment of the bad guys, the system felt that its loss was worth it, and it was very happy.

And… the system finally looked at the two men. When their lives were over, it would reappear and collect their love. The love that had never given up after several lives and deaths would be the purest energy of the highest quality. Of course, the system would not be willing to turn that love into energy, but would keep it as its most precious collection.

THE END

  1. Thank you so much for the hard work. The translation was wonderfully done. This novel was really a good read and the best part is though there is some heartache which did make me cry at times, it was overall a happy ending one.

Congratulations on one more translation project completion of excellent quality!

    1. Thank you!!! I’m really happy you enjoyed it! I love this novel, I feel it is a bit like a “hidden gem”, mostly because of a very restrained title; I bet it would be more popular if it was called “Fake Young Master Reborn to Revenge” or something 🙂 🙂 So, I’m very glad you liked it! 🙂

  2. Thank you so much for the translation! The system was as frustrated as me lol but I really enjoyed this story. There were so many ways for it to be a BE (actually it kinda did in Extra 1 cough) but we got a HE! Still though… no amusement park extra???

I’ve read 3 of your translation projects so far and looking forward to reading more.

    1. I know what you feel! When I was reading, sometimes I felt that it could only end in BE… and I was even resigned to it. But HE is still the best! Thank you!!! I’m happy you enjoyed it! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  3. I am very lucky to come upon this as it just completed and I spent a whole night awake reading this!!! Omg absolutely wonderful work and your translation was superb!!! Thank you so much!!

    1. Hehe, lucky indeed! It’s such a good story and reading it in one go is the best! Thank you, I’m really happy you enjoyed it! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  4. I’m sorry system. I thought you were one of the Cruelest system I have ever know without being Evil nor a Villain. But you actually the Greatest Helper of their Happily Ever After!!! I’m sorry for doubting you… ˚‧º·(˚ ˃̣̣̥⌓˂̣̣̥ )‧º·˚

Seriously… All the Twist this Author did was just…. Guh!!!
I’m glad in the first Timeline the Luo family still get what they deserve…
And now in this Present life, our Couple get the Happily Ever After they deserve to have!!!

Honestly i probably won’t dare to read this novel if not for the fact this novel get translated by you, Translator-sir.
    And I’m glad I’m not disappointed. ٩( ᐛ )( ᐖ )۶

THANK YOU SOOO MUCH FOR THE HARDWORKS IN TRANSLATING THIS NOVEL TILL COMPLETED!!! 🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️xEndlessGratefulness

    1. Thank you!!! 💕💕💕 And thank you for your review, you’re wonderful!!! 🥰🥰🥰 You’re right, the system turned out to be a good guy, and it added such a sweet touch to the story.
Hehe, I also didn’t expect it to be so sad at times when I started reading it 🙂 🙂 But even though it was tragic, it was not suffocating, there was always some hope. And I loved Wencheng so much 😻😻 Lu Chong too, but Wencheng was my darling baby. Thank you for reading it, and I’m really happy you liked it! 💖💖💖

  5. The system is a good system and matchmaker :’) because of its juvenility, it was able to persevere in wanting to see the two characters be together. If it was someone else, they probably won’t care much of small matters.

I binged on it so much it’s already 3:55 am right now 😅 It was an addictive and enjoyable read~ The right amount of angst and drama and love development 😆 .I’ll miss them all, especially ribs :’) Thank you for sharing with us this novel 💞

  6. I am very grateful to stumble upon this novel and I actually spent almost a whole day (sacrificed my sleep time ʕ·ᴥ·ʔ) to finished reading this wonderful novel!
To be honest, the rollercoaster of feelings that I have felt in every moment of reading the novel was emotionally exhausting and the tipping point of this accumulated feelings bursts on Ribs last moments before she died (no gonna lie, I stopped reading for a few minutes and bawled my eyes out). Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed it and because we get a happy ending it was worth every emotions I had experienced.
Also, at some point of the novel I was antagonizing the system but I completely changed my mind with the little reveal at the end about it, I’m sorry for doubting you system ʕっ•ᴥ•ʔっ.
Overall, I love this novel and thank you for translating this!! (。・ω・。)ノ♡ Although, I do wish the author would do extras of where they would go on date at the amusement park and adopted another cat after they got married but I am generally satisfied.

    1. It’s so good to hear!!! Thank you so much!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Abosolutely, I was crying when translating some scenes but it hurt good, too.
Yes, I would love, love, love such extras 🙂 🙂 Can only feel sorry the author didn’t write them 🙂

  7. Awww, what a sweet “plot twist”! The system is actually so sentimental and helped these two get together.

Dear translator, thank you for your hard work 🙏 once again, you have delivered a great project. Besides your obvious skils in translation, you also have impecable taste in choosing what to translate!

I enjoyed this and honestly could have read more without any problem. Even though this novel seems like the typical rebirth4revenge story, it managed to differentiate itself by having the MC acknowledge that he did bad things that he didn’t like. So often, the MCs of these stories go absolutely crazy with their revenge, targeting some minor characters just because they looked at them in an unfriendly way, but still consider themselves righteous and justified. I don’t mind MCs who do bad things if the situation calls for it, but people in denial about their own wickedness annoy me. On the other hand, Luo Wencheng actually thought about his actions and accepted that he was using an otherwise “innocent person” to succeed. I also appreciate the fact that unlike 99,9% of MLs, Lu Chong didn’t give into temptation and stayed faithful to his first love. See guys? An ML is able to control their feelings and urges if they’re a decent person!

My only issue with this story was the pacing, in the sense that we spent too much time focusing on the Luo family, a small fish that could have been dealt with sooner, and didn’t really see in detail how the protagonists uncovered the terrorists who conducted human experiments. As the ~final boss, these weirdos should have taken up more chapters imo. But at least, everything was resolved in the end and we weren’t left wondering what happened with x or y plotline.

    1. Thank you!!! I’m really happy you enjoyed it! All the stories I translate – I love them very, very much, and it’s great to hear you liked it too. I agree on everything with you! The MC admitting he was “dark-hearted” made me sympathise more with him. And the ML, although I was so angry with him for rejecting Wencheng again and again – I have to admit, I also respected him for that. I feel there was a perfect balance in the story: at first the ML refuses the MC’s feelings, and then he has to deal with emotionless Wencheng for a while, earnings is feelings back.

  8. I was quite depressed to have missed the rhythm of the updates but the truth being able to read chapter after chapter was very comforting especially in moments of anguish 😢
I can only thank you once again for your excellent translation and above all the perseverance 🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️

    1. Thank you!!! 💕💕💕 I missed you very much, I love your comments, but this story is particularly frustrating if one has to wait for the next chapters, reading it all together is really the best 🥰🥰🥰

  9. Thank you so much for all your hard work sharing this with us. I didn’t comment much because I was too busy binge reading 😂😂😂 Amazing job as always. Looking forward to reading another one of your project!!! ❤️👏🙏🧧

  10. OMG, I can’t believe it’s over 😭 This was such a fun story to read, I totally didn’t expect the time travel element 😱 I’m also a sucker for “so-and-so sacrificed their life for this person, and they in return sacrificed their life for so-and-so” tropes lol. I’m so glad that MC recognized his family because they seemed so sweet! He went through so much but now he has a loving and fulfilling life ❤ The system was also very perseverant and cute 🤭 Thank you so much for translating this novel!

I’m not sure if you had time to read some of my previous recommendations, but let me know which ones you enjoyed in particular. I can try to recommend some similar ones 😄

Take care of your health and be sure to take breaks 🥰

    1. Thank you so much!!! I’m really happy you enjoyed the story! For me, the ending was perfect, I’m a bit obsessed with the idea that everything comes for a price, so this story really called to my heart.
Thank you again for recommendations, I read some of them, not all yet 🙂 🙂
And thank you very much for your good wishes! 🙂 🙂

  11. Ahhhh this novel was crazy good!!! Everything came together, they both suffered so much but finally survived and lived on happily. I’ve never seen a novel with so much twist, thank you so much for translating!!!

    1. Thank you so much for reading and liking it! You’re right, there were a lot of twists and it’s almost surprising they managed to get through everything. I particularly liked the idea that nothing is free and even their happiness comes for a price. It is very relatable 🙂

  12. Thank you so much for your hardwork in translating this novel, really love it😘. This novel is really wonderful, there a bit sad moments but it is so good that it is a HE. The backstory is also good and really though out.

  13. Thank you so much for translating this wonderful story. Really so happy they finned have their own HE. And a glad this system is so humane too. Thank you

  14. So, basically, everything was screwed up because old patriarch Lu didn’t have a tight enough grip on his organization and someone tried to kill his son. Twice. And the second attempt both borked the system’s original plans and also thwarted the MC’s plans to find Lu Chong again due to memory loss. Then everything else just got more and more broken as the mistakes compounded. It’s a good story despite such an infuriatingly dumb premise, so the author has my respect for managing to pull that off.

    1. We don’t know much about Lu Chong’s father, just that he was a kind man. Maybe he was in his position just because it happened, not because he wanted to be a great mafia boss.
I most loved about this extra how human the system was 🙂 And how the author really tied all ends 🙂

  15. I surrendered! This author really is different. My worries from last extra are all answered here ☺. I am so so glad Wencheng recognised his father. That poor pitiful man can now be at ease. And system ah… such nice novice. No wonder it is so gentle and persistent. It is still a pure system itself. Wencheng really is a lucky soul. At the end of it all, their love will be kept and appreciated forever too by this system. Really special. Thanks for the hard work to everyone~. I actually cried more in this one than the crematorium of Xie Ke and Fu Zhiyun 😅.

    1. I’m so happy you finished it!!! Thank you so much for your comments!!! I enjoyed them so very much!!!!
      You’re absolutely wonderful!!!!!!
Yeah, the extras were really satisfying, right? Answering all the questions 🙂 🙂
